Historic Bridgetown and its Bridgetown UNESCO Inscription Ceremony

On June 13th 2012, Historic Bridgetown and its Garrison will be officially inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Property! Barbados will join a select number of countries in the world recognized as being home to a site considered to be of outstanding universal value to humanity and worthy of being shared with all peoples of the world. We invite you all to join us on Wednesday June 13th at 4:30pm at the Garrison Savannah to witness this piece of Barbadian history and to enjoy the celebrations of this major international achievement. Caribbean Conversations in Conservation Go Online!

The Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the UWI/ OAS Caribbean Heritage Network (CHN) Caribbean Conversations in Conservation series is pleased to announce that it will move forward with a virtual/ online programme starting Thursday, April 15, 2021. We are organising monthly sessions that will take the Caribbean Conversation about Conservation Online! The original programme of this multi-disciplinary, practical conference was postponed in March 2020 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Conference organisers were hoping to deliver a face-to-face conference over the course of 2020 but that was not possible due to the changing nature of the pandemic. However, we are pleased to bring you a series of online engagements based on the original conference programme with some new featured sessions.
