The Pathé News Reels are excellent sources of video and still clips of historical events from across the British Empire between 1896 and 1976. Among the many clips from the Caribbean, one can find events such as the British intervention and suspension of the constitution of British Guiana in 1953; opening of the Federal Parliament in 1958; women selling ‘monkeys’ in Bridgetown c.1930, and, of course, cricket lovely cricket!

The clips can be downloaded and licensed for Power-point presentations, film documentaries, etc.

Caribbean Conversations in Conservation Go Online!

The Local Organising Committee (LOC) of the UWI/ OAS Caribbean Heritage Network (CHN) Caribbean Conversations in Conservation series is pleased to announce that it will move forward with a virtual/ online programme starting Thursday, April 15, 2021. We are organising monthly sessions that will take the Caribbean Conversation about Conservation Online! The original programme of this multi-disciplinary, practical conference was postponed in March 2020 due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Conference organisers were hoping to deliver a face-to-face conference over the course of 2020 but that was not possible due to the changing nature of the pandemic.
